蕭爾大學，成立于1865年，是美國南方歷史最悠久的黑人大學，位于美國北卡羅來納州雷利，學校在整個北卡羅來納州有多個成人與職業(yè)教育校園。同時，蕭爾大學也是一所私立的、男女同校的、附屬于浸信會的文科大學。
蕭爾大學目前可授予大學本科和研究生學位，學校的首要任務(wù)是承諾保持研究和學術(shù)專業(yè)方面的優(yōu)秀性，以促進學生智力和技術(shù)能力的提高。學校獲得了一項五年的補助金，以與北卡羅來納州教堂山大學之間的建立伙伴關(guān)系來為少數(shù)民族消除健康差距。在2007年，蕭爾大學從國家科學基金會獲得了250萬美元的捐款以支持學校納米科學和納米技術(shù)項目的最新研究。學校同時還與中國的西北民族大學和西安科技大學建立了留學生交換項目，這也是1978年以來中國教育機構(gòu)與美國教育機構(gòu)之間第一個交換生項目。
