The Government today announced that from 6pm today (March 12th) until March 29thinclusive all schools and higher education institutions should close, and institutions should make other arrangements for teaching and learning and other activities in line with their business continuity plans.
愛爾蘭政府宣布從3月12日下午6點至3月29日（含），所有中小學(xué)校及高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)都應(yīng)關(guān)閉，機(jī)構(gòu)可根據(jù)其業(yè)務(wù)實施計劃對教學(xué)及其他活動另行通知安排。
In line with this directive, the UCC campus will be closed for this period from 6pm today. The safety and welfare of our students and staff is paramount.

Online teaching and learning will be provided for staff and students from Monday 16th March and critical services (including critical research infrastructure) will be maintained during this period.

UCC staff are expected to work remotely to the maximum extent possible during this period, in line with the Government advice issued today. Please agree your remote working arrangements with your relevant line management. A guide to remote working has been prepared to assist all staff and is available here.

Notwithstanding the closure of campus, there will be an ongoing requirement for some critical staff to continue to be available to work onsite.

Learning Online/在線上課
Students will receive their teaching and learning online via Canvas from Monday 16th March 2020 until the end of the current semester. Guidance on use of Canvas and other online tools is available here. We strongly encourage staff and students to spend time familiarising themselves with this guidance.

Examinations & Assessment/考試與評估
No formal examinations will occur during this period from 13th March to 29thMarch inclusive. We will issue further updates on examinations and assessment as soon as possible. The University will ensure that no student is disadvantaged in terms of academic assessment by any alternative measures which we may introduce.

Student Placement/學(xué)生實習(xí)
All non-healthcare student placement is suspended for the period referred to above. This position will be reviewed again on the 30th March 2020. Placements not yet commenced will be deferred during this period and placement ceases for this period for students currently on placement. Students will not be penalised from an academic perspective for any deferral or postponement of placement and alternatives arrangements or timing for the placement component of the curriculum will be considered by the University.

Healthcare placement will remain under continuous review in collaboration with our clinical partner sites.

Study Abroad/出國留學(xué)
In view of the direction from the Government today and the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic by the World Health Organisation, UCC students who are currently overseas as part of their studies will be recalled. Where possible, such students should continue to engage with their host universities abroad online.
鑒于今天愛爾蘭政府的指示以及世界衛(wèi)生組織宣布新冠病毒大流行，目前在國外學(xué)習(xí)的科克大學(xué)學(xué)生將被召回。在可能的情況下，交換學(xué)生應(yīng)繼續(xù)在線與國外交換大學(xué)進(jìn)行交流學(xué)習(xí)。
UCC will ensure such students currently abroad are not disadvantaged in terms of academic assessment by this decision.

Arising from the closure of the campus, all events scheduled to take place between 13th March and 29th March inclusive will be postponed. This includes all recruitment activity.

Travel/游學(xué)訪學(xué)
In view of the direction from the Government today and the declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic by the World Health Organisation, no non-essential University related travel will take place during this period of closure.
